The Kalenji comprehensive training programmes are planned over a period of eight weeks. In accordance with the distance, your target, your level and the number of sessions planned, they offer the possibility of determining running duration in line with the distances completed and the intensity involved. Children and parents: the ideal sport for your children's health

Everyone can run, as soon as their general physical condition enables sustained effort over a certain period (to be defined) taking into account the age of each runner. A medical exam will specify your abilities and will remove any doubts you may have about taking part in this sport.

Running is the most natural and innate exercise for children, have you thought about it?

As soon as they are walking, they start to run everywhere and all the time, during playtime, in the garden and even in the house, much to your horror! 

But panic not, you should encourage them to run and to release their energy, as running is ideal for children's motor skills and physical and psychological balance. To avoid racing around the furniture and Grandma's vase, take advantage of the new school year to sign them up to a running club managed by the French Athletics Federation, where sessions for learning running are led by professional trainers. Classed by level and group, they will experience a sense of general well-being as well as reaping all the benefits of a complete sporting activity.

 

Stay motivated with KALENJI

You should bear in mind that the motivation to run is not calculated in line with the number of kilometres travelled, but in terms of improvement in running duration. If you have been doing sessions for several weeks and you feel as though you've hit a dead end, follow the Kalenji guidelines for monitoring your enjoyment and progress: 

- choose the right route and the right surface: to better evaluate your progression, it is a good idea to have a route to use as a benchmark with its reference points. Choose soft surface terrains to facilitate your strides. 

- Run at your own pace, while working on the movement of your whole body (strides, back position and the movement of your ankles), breathe properly, in through the nose and out through the mouth!  

- review your progress - the improvements are there, but you often don't see them; write them down daily, this will really help you to persevere in this sport

- get your friends interested in your new passion and they too will analyse your progress 

- choose a new running outfit and some accessories, you deserve it!
